Ribblehead Viaduct

Ribblehead Viaduct
Ribblehead Viaduct iand it's 24 magnificent arches is a tribute to the hundreds of navvies that built this magnificent structure in such a inhospitable place. Many died during the construction due to accidents, smallpox and fighting. It has stood the test of tie and is one of the most photographed bridges on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway. With Phenghent in the background and a wonderful moody sky it makes me want to be there again and again to see this stunning landscape in different light and conditions. A place I will be returning to time and time again.
